Profile
What this agent actually does
Person Data Assistant is a new, separate workflow agent for supported personal-data activities. Oracle recommends it for new development rather than starting with the older Personal Information Assistant template.
Documented capabilities
What users can ask or do
- The 26D workflow-based child agents support personal-information activities across demographic, religion, biographical, citizenship, passport, visa and permit, and driver’s licence data.
Scenario
In practice
An employee or authorised HR user works with supported person information through the agent, within their permitted access.
Profile value
Key value
Brings supported person-data interactions into a workflow-agent experience.
Implementation considerations
What practitioners need to know
- Existing Personal Information Assistant-based agents can continue to function. Oracle recommends Person Data Assistant for new development, and future enhancements are focused on Person Data Assistant.
- Person Data Assistant combines workflow-based child agents with selected capabilities provided through Personal Information Assistant as a child supervisor agent. In 26D, the supervisor agent continues to support creating, retrieving, updating and deleting email and phone information, alongside retrieving address and family or emergency contact information. Worker search has moved into the overall workflow, reducing reliance on supervisor-agent routing.
- Oracle's 26D documentation states that the Personal Information Assistant and Person Legislative Information supervisor agent templates "are deprecated in this release". Agents already created from these templates continue to function, but the templates will no longer be enhanced. Do not describe them as removed.
- Person Data Assistant is not simply a renamed Personal Information Assistant.
Release milestones
Release evolution
- 26C: Person Data Assistant introduced as a new, separate workflow agent.
- 26D: Expanded workflow-based support for demographic, religion, biographical, citizenship, passport, visa and permit, and driver’s licence information, with operations varying by data object. Added support for requests involving multiple people or supported data objects in one conversation. Worker search moved into the overall workflow, while selected contact-information capabilities continue through Personal Information Assistant.
Practitioner perspective
My practical take
Person Data Assistant and Personal Information Assistant shouldn't be treated as interchangeable. Oracle recommends Person Data Assistant for new development, but existing Personal Information Assistant-based agents can continue to function. Understanding the differences between the two is important when planning new implementations or reviewing existing configurations.
